Lorikeet in Flight
Rainbow Lorikeets are a very colourful species of parrot. They are very common in the Eastern states of Australia, often found in large flocks. They mainly feed on native fruit, pollen and nectar and have a specialized tongue adapted to gathering nectar from flowers.
This Lorikeet was imaged in flight as it moved between the branches of a Grevillea Elegance tree, whilst feeding in the early morning.
