Brisbane Time-lapse Planet

This image was taken in Captain Burke Park, a green outdoor space in Kangaroo Point with stunning views of Brisbane City and the impressive Story Bridge. Opened in 1940, the heritage-listed bridge spans the river between Fortitude Valley and Kangaroo Point. It has become one of Brisbane’s most recognisable landmarks and is featured prominently in the annual Riverfire festival as well as being illuminated in varying colours at night.

I finished this piece a little differently, as I wanted to show how the city transforms as the Sun’s rays fade away, and the lights beneath come to life. It was created with images taken over a half hour period, after sunset, and I chose to use a curved border between the different times of the evening as it suited Panoramic Planet style, the arches of the bridge, and the differently illuminated sections themselves quite well.
