Inuksuk Planet

As someone who loves snow and the outdoors a winter Panoramic Planet was always high on my to-do list, and what better place to capture such an image than Whistler Peak in Canada. Located a little over an hour from Vancouver, Whistler Blackcomb is a picturesque ski resort, the largest in North America, embraced by gorgeous mountain views in all directions. Whistler and Blackcomb peaks rise from the valley floor and the charming village below to offer both amazing downhill skiing, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

On the day of the shoot the view from the peak was magnificent, some early morning cloud was still lifting in the valleys beneath, creating a lovely, serene atmosphere. To the top right of the planet is Whistler Mountain’s Inuksuk, the stone structure which is similar to cairns historically used by many of the native people of North America for navigation. To the top left the Black Tusk can be seen in the background, and in the very middle of the planet the indentation left by my makeshift tripod/panoramic head can be seen - a ski pole.
