Singapore Flyer Planet

The Singapore Flyer is a giant observation wheel, located on the northern edge of the Marina Bay, offering stunning views of the Marina and surrounding sights. It is the tallest observation wheel in Asia at 165m tall, roughly 42 storeys, and takes passengers on a 30-minute journey of the surrounding scenery.

For this image I felt a Panoramic Planet would be a great way to show off the Flyer, and early evening proved to be the best time to capture the giant wheel in motion. The foreground was shot in the gentle early evening light and then the flyer itself was imaged for several minutes to achieve the long blur of the lighting on the glass passenger capsules.

To the left of the planet the two conservatories in the Gardens by the Bay are visible, along with the iconic Supertree Grove. Above that the magnificent Marina Bay Sands and Singapore’s central business district skyline can be seen.
