Fingal Head Panorama

The Giants Causeway at Fingal Head is formed of basalt columns, the hexagonal columns that can form when thick lava flow cools, contracts, and fractures.

Storms during the day had drawn the dust out of the air and left the sky crystal clear, and the sea churning with large waves that surged through the causeway in front of me.

I imaged the causeway and the sea just after the sun had set while there was still a gentle glow on the rocks. The energetic waves racing to the shore created beautiful misty water for me, and once the early evening light had softened a little more, I captured the sky, and then the stars later that night to complete the image.
