Hong Kong Planet 5

Hong Kong is an incredible city to explore. Comprised of dozens of mountainous islands, and owing to its lack of flat, developable land and high population it has become a spectacular sight, a contrast of modern unique architecture, set against hilly forested terrain. It is one of the most densely populated places on Earth and is the city with the most skyscrapers on Earth, at five hundred and ten. It is always an engaging experience to spend the day on foot exploring the winding pathways and dense urban maze of the city, taking in the mix of older style colonial architecture, the southern Chinese Lingnan architecture, as well as the ultra-modern high rises.

This image was captured on a footpath in Tamar Park, an urban park on the waterfront promenade, in Hong Kong. To the right stands the impressive International Finance Centre, Hong Kong’s second tallest building, and towards the left-top of the planet is the Central Government Complex building, a visually striking design with one building appearing to rest upon another, and Tamar Park passing through the complex itself.
