South Africa Sunrise

The plains of Africa are a place where I have found a calming peace unlike anywhere else on Earth. The remote, serene, wide-open spaces offer an escape from our often-busy world, and a reconnection with our beginnings. It is a place I’ve never felt bored or wanting for entertainment, but rather the plains, mountains and Bushveld consume the senses. The more time I spend gazing at the astonishing scenery, the more I discover, and the more I am in awe of this place.

Taken at sunrise on the edge of the Bushveld, this image captures so much of what I love about Africa. The cool, crisp spring air, the soft clouds sitting peacefully on the mountains, the glowing Sandstone cliffs, and of course the incredible bush itself, teeming with life. There is an exciting feel to the cool morning air in Africa, a feeling of life, of mystery and adventure to come.
