Sydney Harbour Morning Planet

Captured in Sydney’s picturesque harbour, this image was taken on a crisp Autumn Day, when everything worked out just perfectly. A few prior dates had seen bad weather, bushfire smoke and heavy rain, but on this glorious morning Sydney offered up a magnificent sight.

Some thin cloud hovered in the morning sky, scattering the Sun’s waking light, creating a golden glowing sunrise, and a gentle pink hue overhead that cast warm soft light over the city. The water in the harbour was calm and flat, and absolutely gleaming with the Sun’s reflected rays. The harbourfront itself was peaceful; tranquil and empty­, the warmth of the Sun’s early light refreshing and welcome.

To the top left of this image is Sydney’s world-famous Harbour Bridge, a magnificent heritage-listed steel arch bridge, and towards the top right the iconic Sydney Opera House can be seen beneath the fiery sunrise.
